I hope Santa was good to all of you!
Santa was good to me this year. I got a nice air compressor beneath the tree, but it seems the elves forgot some key things. So I went off to Home Depot today to pick up an air impact wrench, some metric impact sockets, tire attachment, blow gun, etc. Now I'm stocked up...
My brother also got me a nice tripod mounted 500W halogen work light. It does a hell of a job when the flourescents are struggling in the cold.
So I got my new tools out to get ready for my snow tire intall. I bought Bridgestone Blizzaks on steel rims about a month ago... Good thing I had the impact wrench cuz that's how the lug bolts must have been put on the last time the car was in a shop. It was easy to install the tires and put the bolts back on by hand. I took the car out on a test drive/mountain dew pickup mission and the car is SOOO much more quiet. It's also a lot mushier. I guess the crappy sears "roadhandler" or "roadholder" tires that came on the car are probably rock hard 80k rated tires that generate tons of noise. I'll have to think about better summer rubber some day.
The Christmas snow melted off. It's about 20 degrees in Cleveland but no snow. I want to test out the new tires in a parking lot...
Let it snow!
