The easiest thing would be simply removing all relays and fuses and doing
a visual check. Sliding the fuse/relay in and out several times will rub
away minor surface oxidation; pencil eraser is great for cleaning
things up as well. If any contacts seem less than tight, you can
bend them as you already have done.

I solved an overheating problem (eventually...) when I discovered that
the radiator thermo switch contacts were loose.

Unless you have a car from the "crumbly wiring era" (around 86, ask the experts)
it's probably not worth your while to remove/replace the harness. I had
mine ('88) out for some major re-wiring and was suprised to find how
good a shape the wiring was in. Only the connectors (really the plastic
pieces that hold the connectors) were showing their age.
