Monster - are there two pad thicknesses?

Monster - I ran into the same problem as Ron when replacing pads on an 85 900 Turbo, and I really beat on the caliper to make sure it wasn't frozen from rust or age or whatever. I used the SAAB tool to turn the piston in all the way, and for the life of me, I could not get both pads in - inner one no problem, but outer one, no way. Are there indeed two pad thicknesses available? If so, any chance you know the correct thickness for an 85? As it is, I'm driving it with one new and one old pad (luckily it stops fairly straight). I also destroyed that U-shaped pin that holds the pads in (as well as a sledge hammer, two knuckles, and my previously cordial relationship with the neighbors), and am currently using two likely now rusted bolts - any thoughts on where I might locate one of those pins, or what might work well in its place? Thanks
