RS is on the money...circlip is tricky, another hint

The circlip is a pain, because it has to be spread all the way into its groove in the CV joint in order for the joint to slide off the axle. There are special plier-like tools to spread the clip, but a needle nose pliers will work fine. RS idea of a vice grip to hold the axle is a good idea but it is even easier with a helper. One person spreads the clip open with the needlenose pliers(opening the pliers with the tips inside break in the circular clip), and the helper gently pulls and wiggles the CVjoint. It will come off in 30 seconds or less. Working alone, you could spend 30 minutes.
