If you have a shop do the clutch and tranny it will probably run $2500 or so as the others have indicated. Exclusive of gas/oil/etc. it costs about 15 cents/mile to own a car. So to come out ahead on the deal, you'll need to get about 17K miles out of it after the repair. If the car is otherwise in good shape, and you like the car, it's probably worth it.
New car payments are lottzbucks, and when you drive a new one off the lot, it immediately depreciates a couple thousand bucks, which is the cost of the repair on the 900.
