The ideas of the DIY APC are easy, but application is not so to someone like me who is not an electrician. When you get the APC apart, you have to solder some resistors. Sounds easy enough, but I must have missed that day in college. If you have no knowledge of soldering resistors, and are going to attempt it yourself, I reccomend getting an old used APC box for practice in soldering. That is what I did, it takes some getting used to, but you don't want to destroy your stock APC box.
Then there is the 'pot dialing' that you have to do. There are reccomended ohms that the pots should be turned to, but alas there are no numbers on the dials that correspond to these ohms, and I have been unable to figure out how to get a multimeter to measure the ohms there. So for me, that became a trial and error, turning them a little to test the boost pressure and sustaining of boost pressure.
Good part - once you get some practice, it becomes relatively easy, and the results can be amazing. Don't forget to install a 3.0 FPR if you mess with the boost too.
