I ran a wire through the fire wall on the passenger side, and it seems to have opened somehting up. I had a power steering leak from the resevior under the hood, and it would leak into the passenger side floor. So, hypothetically, rain could come off the windshield, dump into the area in front of passenger side, then some in through firewall.
Another suggestion is maybe the windshield post, there is a drain for the sunroof that runs down the post, there may be an opening in there where it could come down and leak into the cabin in front of the door.
Pull up the carpet there, take a look at the walls of the car near the firewall, and in front of the door and search for wetness, if you can. Try and do it before it dries up.
Those are the only suggestions I have to offer, good luck.
