assume compressor good, no extra oil on the clutch indicating a blown seal!
1. purhchase new: hose set(new o-rings), receiver/drier, & expansion valve ~$80-$100(from sponsor only please).
2. evacuate system
3. take compressor, hoses, expansion, drier out of car
4. remove oil in compressor via side plug, flush with ester oil(~$5), add appropriate amount (5oz?=Sanden compressor)
5. add 2oz(?) oil to drier, check Bentley, memory bad.....
6. install new items and compressor with new oil. torque to Bentley values
7. convert new hoses to R134a fittings (~$20)
8. pull vacuum on system (~$50 at local McMidas/Monro)
9. add R134a per instruction on car, low side best, no more than 2 cans(~$4/can). you will need the fill hose (~$15)
10. using a/c temp probe (~$5) in center vent; system should hit 40-50deg MAX AC depending on ambient at 2500PRM(?)
Takes about half day for rookie. Hard part is compressor out of car.
YMMV,
Ed S
