Hi guys,
Compression is 150 for three cylinders but number three cylinder is 135 - this test is the same cold in the morning or after warmed up.. I have a verrry bad oil leak form the oil pump o ring area.. could this be causing it? i changed from 10w30 to 20w50 last night and no difference. no coolant loss at all and there was no coolant in the oil when changed which i think should rule out head gasket. i took it into a saab mechanic and he said there is just a slight play in the turbo shaft and it shouldn't be the cause of smoking.. i pulled the plugs this am to see if there was any coolant on them or oil when the motor was cold before firing up and there was nothing, plugs are in good shape but it's been quite awhile since they were changed. is there a test that can be done to check out the turbo? i'd like to research this well before sending it in for a head gasket job if that's what it is and i'm leary to think it is based on my findings..Any suggestions at all would help alot..
