I know that the subject of bleeing the clutch system has been discussed throughly here, but I'm having a problem that I haven't seen mentioned. My clutch slave was disconnected for some time, so I know that there is plenty of air in the system. Tried bleeding only from the slave with no luck, then tried bleeding the clutch master cylinder and that didn't seem to help (could see air bubbles escaping around the fitting, though), tried applying positive pressure from the reservoir using a bicycle inner tube and bike pump, tried the infamous gravity bleed method. Now, with a very small funnel/ hose attached to the slave and suspended about the reservoir (valve 1/2 turn open, with teflon tape), pushing the clutch pedal and/or applying positive pressure to the reservoir have no effect on the level of fluid in either the funnel or in the reservoir.
Could there be some sort of air lock in the clutch master cylinder? Could I have damaged the master cylinder with too much pressure on the reservoir? I'm at a loss as to what to do next... anyone run into this before? Thanks,
Ryan
