My 1983 had the driptray modification done under warranty, but sometime later the hose fell off the tray and directed water right under the carpet. During one particularly hot summer of commuting (lots of A/C), I didn't find out about the leak until I stepped on the passenger side one day and heard a big "SQUISH" from the soaking wet carpet. This led to the later rusting out of the passenger floorboard - now patched.

So even with the driptray, be sure the little hose is still connected to the bottom!!!
