Edges where panels are spot-welded together. For example, the following...
The hole where the driveshaft comes thru the inner fender; IOW the edge of that hole.
Bottom edges of the rear "frame rails", around the spring pockets & towards the rear where the shocks are mounted.
Edges of the rear wheelhousing... Where the inner fender comes down & meets the back end of the rocker panel, & where it meets the front end of the trunk floor & the panel beneath the bumper extension.
Each of these places is like an edge of the original metal parts. The rubber naturally is thinner there, easier to break. After it breaks, it still hides the rust that is going on underneath the rubber.
