First of all, thanks to all of you for your advise: Jeff M., compaqted, jp, RS, Vlad, Bill N, and JohnK.

Long Story Short - 1994 C900TC swallowed by pothole at 45mph. car shakes only when braking. Diagnosis...

I used John's sugguestion of a jack stand with a pointer and spin the rotor. Sure enough, the right front rotor was warped. I probably should have guessed there was a problem because that's the side that got swallowed by a pothole, and 2 lug bolts from that side would not come off with my impact wrench! I had to get 3 1/2' of pipe and a breaker, then put some elbow grease to it... Finally the 2 bolts broke free...

Bummer is that I diagnosed this before a holiday weekend, so there is no way to get parts until late next week. And I'm taking the car 3000 miles starting next friday.

So, what's the worst thing about a slightly warped rotor? Safety Issue? Uneven tire wear? Quicker wear on pads? Just an annoyance?

I *could* get rotors at my dealer, but I'm more inclined to call Sobstory and get afew other things while I'm at it. I like saving a few bucks...

Also, Bentley leads me to think I should have the locating pin and 1 other fastener holding those rotors on. I have only 1 pin per side... Is this a problem? At least it's consistant on both sides!

Randy
