I was running KYBs on my '86 S with Jamex springs. I hated the ride, but then, I hate KYBs! The problem with them IME is that they seem to aerate rapidly (dual tube design) which means they get progessively harsher and more bouncy the more abuse they take. They may be better with Intrax springs, but the Jamex ones are fairly soft to start with, and didn't mix well with a harsh shock. They are quite nice with the Boge Turbo shocks I'm using now - I would definitely not go back.
Bottom line: There is a reason why people say KYB means Keep Your Bilsteins. :)
