hi ryan. ( i assume this is scs ryan...) how is the project going. you put on cams and headers? port the spare head? the notchiness is probably caused by a mis aligned shifter causing the brass shift dog to catch a corner. is it possible to modify the shift ( i.e. left or right positioning) in such a way that it lessens the problem? just finesse it instead opf forcing it. i'd phone rob and ask what would cause those problems. is it possible that you are just not use to the new trans?

anyway. experiment with the issue to get a full load of data for scanwest. i'd guess missalignment. did you realign on install? it won't hurt it it becasue the misalignment of shift is a totally separate piece of the puzzle. does it grind on shifts?

last note. i'd suggest royal purple or syntec 100% synth gear oil. i've used all and i won't use MTL again. amsoil also a good choice i imagine. royal purple shifts very well in our weather and is a lot quieter. mtl is to light for the loose clearances in a saab trans ( just my .02). unless perhaps every gear is brand new. of course the most important part of the lube is keeping it fresh...but you already got that part covered.
