I could not disagree more! I have x-drilled rotors on my beater 88 SPG. The rotors have about 40K miles of use as well as about 1000-2000 miles of track (roadcoarse) duty. They show ZERO signs of wear!
The pic you showed looks to be a cheaply made x-drilled rotor! If the holes are not properly drilled cracking WILL occur! The holes MUST be chamfered (sp) which to me it lookes like someone simply drilled holes in the rotor & sold them as x-drilled thus the cracking issues.
I also have a set of ap racing 330mm rotors which came from AP Racing in x-drilled form. For AP Racing as well as numerous performance car companies (prosche, ferarri, willwood, brembo etc) to use them, they must be on to something good!
