I've always torqued my wheels to 85ft/lbs but other than just taking it easy on new brake pads I've never really followed any specific bedding-in procedure.
Haven't found a concensus on exactly how to bed in the pads. Did a search on this forum and didn't find much, Bently isn't much more specific: "New brake pads require some break-in. Allow for slightly longer stopping distances for the first 100 to 150 miles of city driving, and avoid hard stops."
What is the concensus here as to how to bed in new brake pads?
What's the theory behind this preventing warped rotors? Simply uneven pad wear and therefore uneven heating/cooling that leads to a warp?
