The calipers in the '88-on C900s are floating. If the pins and the contact points between the caliper body and the mount aren't lubed properly, the caliper can hang in such a way that there's always some inward force on the outer pad. This could have an effect on the heat loading and rotor warpage.
John, have the calipers been maintained between rotors?
