I posted this message a few days ago but got no response. Maybe it's a silly question or maybe nobody's had this problem??? Anyway, if there are any cruise control experts out there please help...

So here's the deal: My cruise control on my 84 900 turbo just quit working after I had my clutch slave cylinder replaced. It was working fine until I had that work done. When I noticed the cruise wasn't working I took it back to the shop and told them about the situation. They were happy to check over the work they had done to make sure it wasn't something they had done to cause the cruise to quit working. Well, they found nothing but offered to trouble shoot the cruise (for the hourly rate of course). I said no and headed on my way determined to fix it myself.

Here's where I'm at...I've checked all these things (according to my Bentley) and all are working properly:
all rubber hoses are in good condition and attached
cruise control switch (turn signal wand)
vacuum pump and regulator
vacuum lines at the pedal switches
pedal switch plunger adjustment

However, the one thing that didn't check out is the electrical part of the (brake/clutch) switch. In the Bentley it says to disconnect the wires from the switch and connect an ohmeter across the switch terminals. When I did this I got the OPPOSITE reading of what Bentley said should be the correct reading. In that my switch read NO continuity when the pedal is at rest and continuity when the pedal is pushed. Bentley says it should read continuous when at rest and NO continuity when the pedal is pushed. What gives??? Are some wires just crossed or backwards? Any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks as always
Jeff
