Re wires, i think you might have them in the right order, but you could be thinking that the engine turns the other way. You really should verify that the order is correct and that the distibutor rotor is pointing at the #1 plug wire at true TDC.
You should realize that TDC is really every other turn of the flywheel, alternating between the top of the exhaust stroke and the top of the compression stroke. This means that the engine will turn 2 revolutions for one revolution of the distributor.
If the #1 wire is not on the top towards the fender, you could have the distributor twisted around. Your EZK ignition will compensate for timing errors only within a range. Take your time, check rotation direction, find true TDC, adjust distributor and plug the wires in correctly.
