The turbo runs a lot hotter. The best thing you can do for your turbo is that you have the adequate coolant with proper mixing of the coolant. Also get your self an 82 degree thermo fan switch and thermostat. This will keep the fan going a lot sooner and keep the engine properly cooled. If you have done this, you should not see the temp gauge reach past the half mark.
