I tried it, along with Redline. I got no shifting improvement with either and with Redline, my tranny died within 5K of switching. Prolly coincidence (and symptomatic of going from old, gear lube to these lighter fluids), but with Honda, the tranny felt way too loose and gnashy. The stuff is like iced tea and in summer it was too sloppy and loud. There is no magic potion, and since the Honda MTF came into favor I've only heard glowing first impressions but no long term results. I currently have Amsoil 20/50 (since rebuild) but will probably just go with dino and yearly flushes soon. Against most observations, I've found the Amsoil to be no less stiff to shift on cold MN winters than dino or Redline. Second is always a slow, careful shift in winter and summer for me.
Everyone's got a right to their opinon (well, still at least) and the caretaking of their tranny. Incidentally, the local Saab indys either swear by motor oil or gear lube and save the Redline for the customers who want to pay $10 a quart. The rebuild on my previous 900 got Redline by the shop, the current one gear lube. The original (on gear lube) lasted 150K, was never changed and ground the pinion to a pulp. Every tranny and opinion is different, but regular changes of whatever you use is probably the best route. I think the sucess of a fluid switch depends a fair bit on tranny wear (and what fluild wore it), maintenance and driving habits.
