Driver's side wet floor (long)

Hello,
I did a search about a wet drivers floor, and checked the front sunroof drain, the steering knuckle boot and the rain gutter drain and they are all working correctly. Well, I climbed under the car, and it seems who ever owned the car before me damaged the front jack point. I pulled back the carpet and the pan is fine, no rust anywhere which is a good thing.
The bracket for the factory jack is crushed up, so I must have a crack in the floor pan. I am going to get out the metabo tonight and wire wheel all the paint and undercoating to hopefully locate the crack. I was in the rain last night and the floor was wet this moring. It is only in the center of the floor, the surronding carpet is dry, so I am assuming it is from the underside. I was going to strip to bare metal on the inside and then in a dark garage shine a light from under to locate the crack. It must not be too big because I cannot locate it, but there is a good layer of paint on the pan.
So, my question is-I plan on patching on the inside with fiberglass due to the complex metal jack point on the outside. Any suggestions or comments before I start?
thanks,
Kevin O
