that have occasional separations, dropping headliners, vacuum leaks, crumbling wire insulation, oil-soaked driveways, pitted contacts in fuel pump relays, etc. etc. etc. All built on a venerable platform with its roots in the mid '60s.
At first, I thought that your subject line was written in an ironic tone - then I realized that you were serious.
Don't get me wrong, I love my C900s - they're wonderfully unique and I hope to drive mine well into the next decade. (That's why I have a garage full of parts.) The latest SAABs are fine cars. They're being designed and built to sell in the mid high-end niche that requires all of the electronic gagetry. If they went with cars with the same level of features as our C900s, SAAB would be laughed out of the marketplace. "Quirky" would be replaced with words like "odd", "throwback", "luddite", and "antedeluvian."
