Maybe the rod connecting the heater control valve to the selector dial on the dashboard has become disconnected?
Does the dial feel like it turns w/o any resistance? You should feel some mild resistance when turning the dial. If not, the rod behind the dial may have come off the valve, or the plastic connector may have broken.
