Good to hear that you lucked out with that Posted by RS [Email] (#15) [Profile/Gallery] (more from RS) on Mon, 19 Jan 2004 17:14:03 In Reply to: Thanks --, Tino, Mon, 19 Jan 2004 16:04:56 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
As long as you have it up on stands, have somebody run through the gears and watch the coupler and the shaft that goes into it. If you're lucky, the pinch bolt is a bit on the loose side. It should be right above the steering rack. Hopefully they havent screwed up the coupler or the taper lin at the front of the coupler.
Pull up the shifter boot and check to see if the 3 torx screws that hold the shifter in are tight. If the shifter ball moves when you're shifting, it might not engage all of the gears properly.
Check the bolts on the motor mounts to see if they got those tightened properly.
I'm hoping that it's one of those things.
These guys don't want to work on SAABs, and G*d only knows that SAABs don't want to be worked on by them.
It probably shifts smoother because they had to replace the lube because they drained it when they took the bearing carriers out. I'm just hoping that they didn't lose any shims. We'll cross our fingers.
