So is the only thing that i did different is set the meter to 250m (i assume .25amps) rather than to OHMs? I obviously don't know enough about this to know if i did everything else correctly but mixing up the amps vs OHMs caused the blown fuse (and otherwise would have been fine).
The way i read JohnK's post it sounded as if i did something improperly (frequently the case:)
So essentially everything should be hooked up but the meter gets hooked up between the negative battery lead and the negative battery post (with the meter's positive lead hooking up with the unhooked battery wire and the meter's negative lead touching the battery post).
If i got that straight (i'll wait for your go ahead) i'll go out and test it again.
