hi, have a 89 900 n/t automatic
No one I asked knows what would be causing this.

It has ran perfect for the 1 1/2 years I've had it.
Past few days, when on freeway going 50-60mph it would just die. All warning lights come on and die, like losing all gas or something, but it wouldn't really putter, it would just die. When I try to start it back up, it will crank but won't start. After trying to crank it and wait few minutes, eventually it will start back up (except today when I had to tow it). This happened 3 times this past week. After getting it towed to my apartment, I cranked it again, and it started right up but runs VERY rough. The tow guy said to listen to the 'ticking', which he said sounds like low oil. But the oil dipstick is on full, I just changed it.

Also, in the past week, a couple times I drove it to supermarket etc... and parked it and after I came back it would not start up. Had to crank it few times, wait a few minutes, try again... until it would eventually start up.

Right now, the car started up after being towed and ran real ROUGH, with ticking noises and the car shaking and then it died. I can't get it started back up again.

I know it's not the battery, since it will try to start the car. Oil and all fluid levels are good.

I haven't tuned the car up since I've had it since the last owner worked in a saab dealership and said it was just tuned up, and also it has run great otherwise.

I'm going to try new spark plugs. Could this be the problem? Could it also be a dirty fuel filter since it is running so rough? I would appreciate any advice on where to start looking or if you know what the problem could be. thanks so much
