paranoia?

Hi, I had to have my engine replaced recently in a 92 900s. Prior to the motor replacement procedure, I had personally replaced all of the ehxaust from the header pipe to the tail pipe. I just got the car back from a reputable independent shop and was looking over the work. The motor looks great and has many less miles on the outgoing one. Then, I happened to notice my header pipe did not look so new. It's got a rusty patina on the flange that meets the exhaust manifold and the manufacturer sticker is already gone. I had replaced that section last (doing exhaust in sections over a month or so)and it is rustier (spotty oxygenation, nothing terrible) than the rest. Here's the question: since I only drove it 3-4 times before parking it for 3 weeks in my driveway before taking it to the shop, can rain and humidity attack the pipe so quickly sitting in the driveway on jackstands? Overall, I am satisfied with the work and the car drives well, is it worth potentially damaging my relationship with the shop by asking about the header pipe? Am I being paranoid? Shouldn't the condition of the header pipe be similar or better to the rest of the exhaust being I replaced it last? What would you guys do?
Confused,
Gene
