Don't discount the effects of the ignition control module. High ambient temperature during stop and go could be border line affecting the power electronics of the unit. This also cuts off the fuel pump if ignition pulses are not coming out of the module to the fuel pump relay. That's a safety feature....you can't pump gas into the engine without spark....
