I have fixed cold start problems several times by simply replacing the AMM. However, last week I did that and the problem did not go away. So, I would suggest that you first check the resistance of your coolant temp sensor and make sure that your basic idle is set properly before you drop $150 for a new AMM.
Having said that, I suspect that your AMM is probably going bad if not already there.
