A few years back, when they were still being sold new, a friend of mine got "T boned" in his Saab convertible. He walked away without a scratch. The local Saab dealer put the car in their showroom so people could how well it performed. I have two convertibles (an '89 and a '93) and feel perfectly comfortable mixing it up with the sport-utes and pickups--by virtue of their agility as much as their structural strength.
