I have 3..an 85 and two 89 SPGS Posted by Jon [Email] (#11) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Jon) on Sun, 14 Nov 2004 10:15:41 In Reply to: How many SPGs are still alive in the U.S.?, K-SAAB [Profile/Gallery] , Sat, 13 Nov 2004 14:39:50 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
One of the 89s is my winter car, the other has been to many events in the northeast. My 85 SPG was in very good shape when I removed the motor to rebuild the transmission (2-years ago, still not done...). It is inside a heated garage with a car cover on it. I might get the transmission rebuilt this winter. I have 5 cars on the road, the newest ones are 91s, the two 89s and a 90 turbo. I am removing the engine today to replace the automatic transmission in the 90, my girlfriend drives it as her winter car. One of the 91s is an automatic that also will get rebuilt / changed out this winter. Working long hours and trying to keep five older cars on the road is very time consuming. I wouldn't have it any other way! I have managed to get 16 Saab 900s and have never sold any, so the SPGs are pretty save with me.
