'85 900 turbos/SPGs look good and are fast when in good shape, but they have many shortcomings that become uglier with age:
1. transmission (all of it, but particularly pinion bearings and drivers)
2. turbo (not water-cooled)
3. engine compartment wiring disintegration
4. inadequate and troublesome front brakes
These are just 4 of many problem areas that can be very costly to repair. I would recommend an '88 or newer if possible. Definitely have this '85 looked at by a specialist BEFORE you buy it so you don't get into a serious money pit.
Good luck!
Eric H.
'85 900 turbo (rose quartz SPG clone) with '89 trans, '90 turbo, new engine harness, and upgraded to '88 spec brakes (and no, I wouldn't do this again...I'd just spend more and get a '90 or '91 SPG)
