As we all know that modern science has proved it to be a fact that a clean motor runs better, I have been searching for a way to remove the whitish aluminum oxide corrosion from the intake manifold and associated underhood parts of my '89T 900. (What pressure washing can't touch.)
I'd prefer a spray-and-rinse type solution.
Does anyone know if wheel-brite or similar product has what it takes?
I know of course the importance of keeping any acid away from electrical connectors and out of the alternator and distributor.
Maybe Easy-Off oven cleaner is in the line of what I'm searching for.
Or maybe I should wait till head gasket time and I can do it by hand with scotchbrite or whatever.
I did use fine steel wool on all the turbo tubes when I had them out during a clutch job and the transformation there was truly amazing.
I'm sure the auto-prep folks have a trick or two here - - like their one of spraying clear lacquer all over the hoses and wires so they look like new.
