Noticing repetitive problem with ebay results

I always have my eye out for used C900's. Apparently the local paper has dried up, except for those folks who are drastically overpriced. Ebay usually lists a lot in my area. The competition keeps driving the bidding price WAY too high. Then when the succesful bidder actually SEES the car, they refuse delivery. I often see the same cars listed 3 times on ebay.
Last week, I went to look at an 88 turbo convertible. Told the owner I was coming. They didn't even clear a foot of snow off the car. The ad stated it needed a master cylinder, and that the engine ran for 3 hours. Upon inspection (atleats the parts I could see, due to being buried in the snow)it needs a battery, all 4 tires, missing wiper motors & arms, varios missing trim pieces. The oil was dirty, the coolant tank was empty (probably a head gasket). It stared ONCE in 6º weather, then promptly stalled and would not restart. I did not get to drive this car, as it wedged between 2 other cars with a foot of snow. I didn't see underneath or the front end. The body looked decent with a few dents & dings, The front windows needed a major alignment.
This car is worth about $300 to me, max. The bidding on ebay went up to $1025 for this hunk of crap. Either the winning bidder will refuse it, or he is a sucker. Look for the ad to show up again in 2-3 weeks.
