An 85 won't go very far due to the very little that are out there. Unless the parts are really clean or in good shape. Also think of the s/h charges. When shipping long distances. I never really made the money I spent, But I also kept a lot of parts that I wanted/needed too. I have found that most of the parts that I have sold, were SPG parts. Those almost always sell. Made notes on my auctions that I am parting out a car, but sometimes you get good leads and sometimes not. The biggest thing you have to figure is time, Do you want to spend the time for the little bit of money you'll get back. Think of the time it take to take apart the car then do the auctions, along with the questions and then shipping too. You can make money on it, but it's going to cost you some time.
On the flip side, I part out these cars for the parts and for the money. My wife doesn't let me spend my day job money on my car. So I part out SAAB's.
One last note. find a scrap yard that will take the car once your done. For a striped out Saab, I'll end up getting somewhere around $50. Call around.
