As suggested the 3.0 FPR is good to pick up. If you can find a mustang with a 5.0 liter engine, grab the fuel injectors. These are 24 lb injectors and fit the Saab perfectly. With these injectors, you can get more boost without hitting knock sensor.
But you can tweak your APC right now to get more boost. Take off APC box at fender liner and unscrew cover(2 halves). You will see a printed circuit board and look for 3 small holes marked f, p, and k, which allow access to potentiometers that control boost. Leave k alone to maintain knock sensor protection. Turn the f pot about 1/4 turn clockwise with a small screwdriver and turn in the p pot clockwise a little at a time - try 30 degrees. This will give your max boost well into red. Without the 3.0 FPR you will probably hit the knock sensor at full boost.
You should also set base boost at 5-6 psi with a cheap pressure gauge teed into any vacuum hose downstream from throttle plate. Disconnect APC solenoid elec plug(up near coil) to limit boost to base. Go for a test drive with gauge in cabin(use 6 ft of vacuum hose and don't crimp in door). Should read 5-6 psi at full base boost (mid-yellow)and I'll bet yours reads only 3 psi. Base boost is increased by turning in(shortening) threaded rod to turbo wastegate. Loosen wastegate rod lock nut when cold and remove cotter pin from linkage so you can lift the control rod off the wastegate arm. Turn the rod about 2 turns per psi increase. Hold rod from turning at pressure control so you don't tear the diaphram in the module.
With base boost at 5-6 psi, you will get much faster spool up and with the APC box tweaks higher max boost. 20 HP available for virtually no cost.
