Ken, The LH ECU is pretty robust. If the car starts and runs, I would not suspect it, at least not early on. Idle problems: clean throttle body, make sure that the TPS switch is properly adjusted, make sure that the o2 sensor is getting power and that its output looks 'normal'. All this is in teh LH FAQ her on Saabnet. A bad AIC will show as a 'sticky idle'. It will idle at 900 then when it needs to 'adapt' to load, it will then pop up to 1200-1500 and want to stay there. try cleaning it first: Remove from car, spray with carb cleaner, shake and spray again, reinstall. If this is happening, the LH will store an 'adaptive idle control' error. Your '94 has the latest and greatest LH ECU Saab; 43 00 083.
The '89T ECU 74 87 119 has the flaky pull up circuit for the fuel pump
relay (not good)
The '90T ECU 91 19 454 is fine, but the EPC shows it superceded to the later one (083)
The other T ECU 91 19 462 floating around are for EGR cars (like my '91 SPG) and these have an inferior fuel map and will set a CE light if the EGR system is not present
