I just did this about a month and a half ago.
Get a real tie rod end remover (hint - it costs more than $25) that looks like a gear puller. Parts America sells it for $50. Worth every penny. The "pickle fork" and cheap tie rod end pullers are inexpensive for a good reason.
For the upper ball joints, it may be easier to find a used steering knuckle. Alternatively, if you remove the two bolts that hold each ball joint in place, you can carry the whole knuckle to your local machine shop and have them blow the ball joints out with their air hammer.
