I've never had any luck just hammering tie rod ends out. Of course the best is to get a real tie rod puller as stated previously. However, if you are replacing them anyway then a cheap pickle fork works fine. Hammer the fork in, the grab it and pull up with all your might using your legs. This should pop it out.
Method might sound stupid, but it has worked for me at least 3-4 times when I had stuck tie rod ends.
