you have one of my former cars. First thing is - does the forward (toward the dash) part of the switch make the window go DOWN (like it should), or UP? If the forward part of the switch makes it go UP, then the leads to the motor in the door are switched (easy fix).
The forward part should make the pass. or driver's window go DOWN on both switches. The rear part should make the window go UP on both switches.
On mine, I've switches the motor leads, and rebuilt the switch internals (invert and add a pin) so that the AUTO function is the rear part of the switch, and causes the window to AUTO CLOSE. Seems to me I always have plenty of time to LOWER the window, but when I'm leaving a toll-booth or whatever it's awfully nice to just push the UP switch once and have the window AUTO CLOSE, while I attend to gear selection and mixing with traffic! It looks perfectly normal, yet works the way I like it.
Personal preference. Let us know?
