I recently put some polyurethane bushings into the shocks on my car. I was able to pull out the old bushings with vice grips - that's how sloppy they were. I heated each of the polyurethane bushings in a cup of water for 2 minutes in my 20-year old 600 watt microwave oven, lubed them with dish soap and was able to press them in by hand. Surprised the heck out of me that it was so easy.
These were KYB shocks, so they may have slightly larger mounting eyes for the bushings than Boges.
From a ride harshness standpoint, you may want to stick with the rubber bushings that come with the shocks. What kind are you getting?
Here's a link to Dave New's pages on ball joints. It's not a bad job as long as the bolts aren't rusted into the joints. If they are, post again and we can give you the various procedures all of us have used.
