'86T uses and -005, '88 uses and -013. They're not compatible. About the vacuum leaks. I'd say don't even bother with checking your vacuum lines, just replace every one of them. And all of the grommets. Really, except maybe the hard lines, like to the vacuum brake booster. After you've done that (or while you're doing that), you can check some of the vacuum driven components.
When that's done, then start looking at the AMM, the AIC, etc.
