Does anyone know whether or not the Anti-Frost switch is capable of being adjusted to lower the cut-out temperature? It is reasonable to assume that it should be, but I am reluctant to wrestle it into view un-nesscessarily. I have never had the opportunity to examine one, but almost every other thermostat is adjustable.
My completely rebuilt R-12 system blows 48 deg F air at 90 deg ambient.
I would love to tweak it a little lower, but still avoid ice-up.
If I hot-wire the A/C clutch, it will blow 22 deg air, so, the system is capable of better output.
Anyone been there/ done that?
Thanx, Mike
