73,000 miles CE CV gets 10W40 synthetic blend. It never sees very cold weather, so 10W is plenty thin enough. 10W40 dino oil has too much viscosity modifier for my tastes, 10W-30 is too thin in the bearings, with an OK but unremarkable history for it's first 10 years, I don't trust fully synthetic to stay on the wet side of the seals.

Ms. Jessica's 200,000 mile '86 is getting Castrol GTX 10W30. That's what Chip Lamb put in before I bought the car, and it dripped not a drop. I (mis)treated it with a full synthetic, and almost got a black flag from the EPA for oiling the streets through the front seal. Per Chip, the GTX 10W30 seems to leak the least, and now it's back to not dropping any.
