errr..my car broke down and I got it towed home because the bolt on the exhaust manifold (egr) blew off and I kept driving and then it melted the distributor wiring harness connection.
so I got a new connection off a harness I had laying around but it had different color wires then one in my car and the some the wires came loose from the connector and I dont know if i placed them in their correct respesptive position. 1,2,3...
anyhow I spliced the wiring harness in my car and tried all sort of different combos but it wouldnt start..(1st question)...if I had wires in the wrong place would this somehow damage my distrubutor? (2nd question) can I skip all this connector business? can i just splice my 3 harness wires to the 3 bare wires in the distrubor? (the connector all ready is broke on the distrubutor and I think I can access the wires that go inside of it) if i can do that then what would be the respective color matching....my harness has black, brown, green and the wires in the distrubor appear to be black, green, red....I dont have my bently and I am not good with electrions and wiring. am I in a very bad situation?
thank you all..this is very frustrating
