I've used the Mity Vac to check for leaks after replacing a leaking expansion valve and O'rings. Made my own adapter buy cutting a cheap recharge hose assembly. Sucked it to max then let sit for thirty minutes, no drop in pressure. Felt comfortable with no leaks. I use the engine's own intake vacumn to suck it down for another thirty minutes. (same adapter just attached to intake) drove car on thirty minute drive with it attached. Disconnected hose. Using a new recharge hose put in the new conversion oil and new freon. Remember 134a should only have 80% of what r12 takes to charge. AC clutch is starting to slip after four hot summers but is bone cold. If you try this install only one can after the conversion oil and note if cold enough. If not add a little more. After one and a half cans my AC started warming up. No warranties but i've done this on close to 10 vehicles with good to excellent results. Only one compressor failure on a 12 year old vehicle. All have been daily drivers no show queens.
