It wouldn't be a bad idea to have a couple of spare ball joints. If you're in the salt belt, the lower ball joint bolts often rust right to the ball joints and you have to break the bolt heads and nuts off to remove the joint. Aome anti-sieze helps alleviate that for the next time you have to do a repair wher the joint needs to be removed from the control arm.
One comment that Russell Guiliano (who goes by a different handle now) made is that it's just as easy and is less expensive to replace the drive axle with a remanufactured unit. That's worked for me.
