if you just want the ignition lock, you can avoid taking the shift box out, although it's a nice spare part to have. just pull the drivers seat out, drill out the little button on the side/rear of the box by the key, push a stiff wire in and release the button holding the lock in the box and pull out with the key. check to make sure all the locks match before you spend your energy removing them. i've had up to three keys for one saab. what a pain. good luck
